Red Tape/Notes: Access to Death Valley is $25/vehicle for a 7 day pass. The mill ruins are a quick detour off Badwater Road.

All that’s left of the Ashford Mill and mining town settlement are some walls and foundations, but if you’re driving Highway 178 to or from Baker, it’s worth a stop since it’s quick to get here and the ruins are just off the parking area. The mill has a rather sad history, which you can read about on the plaque at the site. It’ll probably make you feel better about your own life.
