Despite being extremely busy, this stop is still worthwhile, because the falls are impressive. Numerous viewing areas allow you to enjoy the falls from various angles, and you can get a breather from the crowds by walking a short path through a neat little canyon (which is actually the former path of the river); this path leads to a (foul smelling) pothole, views of the canyon outlet, and a set of stairs going down to the river. A couple of groups were putting in for white water rafting at the river – it’s understandable why they start below the canyon rather than above it!
