I was so excited to get out and see some of the other areas of Myanmar that I didn’t give Yangon much thought and we basically just used it for its airport hub. It does actually have some nice sights, though, with some very picturesque British colonial streets and buildings (particularly near the waterfront), the bird-shaped “floating” barge Karaweik Hall, the Kandawgyi Lake and walkway, and of course the Shwedagon Pagoda. You probably shouldn’t leave Myanmar without seeing that one.
