Red Tape/Notes: Park is open at 6am and closes between 5pm and 7pm depending on time of year; entrance fee is $7 per vehicle. The Scenic Drive is a one way loop.

If you’re pressed for time and just need to get off the road near Vegas and have a few moments remembering what nature is like, Red Rock Canyon is a nice option since the Scenic Drive is designed for that purpose. The one-way loops run anti-clockwise, with views of beautiful multicolored cliffs set in peaceful valleys, and provides various opportunities to get out and stretch your legs. The loop road deposits you a couple of miles down the road from the entrance, after which you can retrace your route and go back to whatever boring drive you were doing previously.
