This is an interesting quick stop for a look (or food stop if you’re hungry). The Pioneer Saloon is one of two remaining original buildings from the old west mining town of Goodsprings (the General Store, next door, is the other original building – although in its earlier life it was a cafe), and you can certainly feel the Wild West vibe when the saloon comes into view. It’s been featured in various films and television shows, so it capitalizes heavily on that publicity; inside the saloon you can see some of the old newspaper clippings about the saloon and evidence of its big and small screen “roles”. Across the street in a field are some interesting abandoned buildings.
