Part of the Reykjanes Nature Preserve, Seltun is an interesting geothermal area. It has numerous mud pots and fumaroles which can be viewed via a boardwalk leading through the area. Mineral deposits create interesting colors in the rock and sediment around the area. The landscape is otherwise quite barren, lending it an other-worldly appearance.
