Seljalandsfoss is a beautiful waterfall, but there are always so many people here that it’s hard for me to really love it. I just feel like I’m at a theme park attraction. I’m sure I’d be head over heels for it if it were in the backcountry somewhere, but being right off the ring road (you can see it easily while you’re driving) every tourist to Iceland will come here. With that said, maybe you’ll get lucky and there will be inexplicably few people here and you can experience it properly! Outside of the winter season, you can hike behind the falls, which is always a nice option.
