Full confession up front – we didn’t do the full hike, which goes to Skógafoss. We only had part of a day, so we went out as far as we could, essentially to Móði and Magni, and then turned back (Móði and Magni were filled with snow, btw, so we couldn’t really see them). But man, what a day. This hike was absolutely amazing – such a stunning variety of scenery (the beautiful fall colors added to it, but I’m sure it’s beautifully green in the summer), with mountains and sheer cliffs and valleys all around, the world’s coolest mesa, and then hitting snow towards the end was a fantastic addition. I can’t wait to come back and do the full circuit.
