If you’re looking for a quick stop and something outdoorsy and scenic while you’re in or near Banff village, Bow Falls is a nice option, and is easy to walk to from town (even easier from the Fairmont Banff Springs, which is just across the road). There’s also a large parking area right by the water, so an even faster option is to park and stroll along the river for optimal views of the falls and the valley beyond. The falls themselves are rather mediocre if you visit lots of falls (they’re short and wide), but they’re still nice, and the valley is quite scenic.
