Sometimes water does amazing things, and the meandering of the Colorado River that created the iconic Horseshoe Bend is one such occasion. You’ve probably seen dozens of pictures of this place, and it’s easy to visit in person. Just drive south of Page, Arizona on US 89, park in the signed parking area, and hike 3/4 of a mile to the overlook on a wide trail. It’s dusty, dry, and extremely hot in the summer (bring some water or it’ll be a long 1.5 miles), but it’s a quick hike and cool to see in real life. We meant to come back at night for Milky Way photography, but cloudy nights prevented it. Next time!
