There’s not much that says “adorable couple/family outing” more than going to Julian to pick apples in the fall. Not only is the apple picking itself fun, but you’ll feel so wholesome and Martha Stewart-y when you go home and make candy apples or a pie. Julian is nice to visit even if you aren’t picking apples. The town itself is extremely picturesque, retaining its classic “old mining town” feel (including the historic jail on the edge of town), there are some nice hikes in the area, and there’s a general rustic feel that’s a refreshing break from urban life.
