I don’t normally include once a year events on this website, but the Air Show is such a San Diego staple that it seemed worth mentioning. The highlight of the show for most people is the Blue Angels performance, and they are pretty amazing to see, but we love the other parts of the show just as much, if not more. The Parachute Team does an amazing performance, they often do a historical flight where you can see old World War I and II era planes flying with modern day jets. Sometimes the Red Bull stunt helicopter will be there to do amazing acrobatics, and you’ll feel the boom as a jet breaks the sound barrier. Plus, explosions. And sometimes exotic cars. Worth marking your calendar to try and go, at least once.
