We had a rather frenzied fall the year we went to Finland, so we opted for a relaxing holiday rather than one of our frantic “see as much as humanly possible” trips. We mostly just wanted to get some quality time with snow and do some dogsledding, and as a result, we stayed in the Lapland at Kakslauttenen the entire time, but varied our accommodations within the resort to see more of the area. The Lapland is a remote and beautiful area, particularly if you appreciate snow and low population density.
