Home to slot canyons, hoodoos, and some of Utah’s most breathtaking scenery, the massive Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is filled with great things to see and do. Its remote location also means that it’s a wonderful spot for night photography, with great visibility of the milky during summer months. You’ll be more comfortable visiting some places if you have a 4-wheel drive – if you don’t, there’s still lots to do, you just want to do a little extra research to make sure you’re not that guy who’s calling a tow truck to drive out Hole in the Rock Road (you wouldn’t be the first).
