San Francisco Bay Area

San Francisco Bay Area

There’s a lot to love about the Bay Area. Just be aware that the weather probably isn’t high on the list (at least not in San Francisco proper). The first time we came here, we were in search of the secret underground bunker (search for it on youtube if you don’t know what I’m talking about), and were successful. It was at this point that Tom decided he wanted to keep me forever. You read that correctly…finding a secret underground bunker entrance was what sealed the deal. Sadly, the entrance has since been sealed off (I know, we were super bummed as well), but there’s still lots to see and do that doesn’t involve being stuck in traffic or surrounded by pavement.

Where to Stay

The Inn at the Presidio – I don’t know how this secret isn’t out. We thought this place was great – lovely historical area, quiet, away from downtown but still a close Uber ride away.

Itineraries

We always combine a trip to San Francisco with a trip to Napa (see our Napa Valley post for more details on that destination), although San Francisco is certainly a worthy destination on its own. However, you can definitely see both in a three or four-day weekend.
