Red Tape/Notes: Located on highway 83 between Waimea Bay and Hale’iwa, at the south end of Pohaku Loa Way – however, residents request that you park on the inland side of the highway and walk to the beach rather than driving through their neighborhood.

What’s Nearby?: Shark’s Cove

If you want to see turtles up close, Turtle Beach is as close to a sure bet as you’ll get (outside of a zoo or aquarium or something along those lines). They’re usually here, just swimming around or hanging out on the beach. They’re extremely tolerant of people, so resist the urge to touch the turtles and just enjoy being around them. Water visibility is probably not going to be great, but hey… turtles. Come on, you can’t have everything!
